Early Life and Education

Rahul Roy was born on February 9, 1968, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, to Deepak Roy, a businessman, and Indira Roy, a writer for a UNICEF magazine.

He has a twin brother, Rohit Roy, who is 25 minutes younger, and an adopted sister, Priyanka Roy, now known as Hari Maa.

After his parents’ separation when he was 11, Rahul and Rohit moved to The Lawrence School, Sanawar, in Himachal Pradesh, where actor Sanjay Dutt was a senior and actress Pooja Bedi a junior.
